Paphos Ancient Theatre

Located close to Paphos, this ancient theatre is thought to date back to around the end of the 4th century. With Alexandrian influences, the styling is of this theatre fits with the time period, when the island was ruled by Ptolemais. Partly built on a hill, with the rest being a man-made structure, this remarkable building is of great archaeological interest, and you may well see archaeologists at work when you visit, uncovering the hidden secrets of this fascinating site.

 

Paphos Ancient Odeon

Paphos Odeon, in Kato Paphos is close to the tourist areas and so is easily accessible. Built as part of the Roman Agora buildings, the theatre itself dates back to the 2nd century. It has since been restored and is used to this day as a working theatre. Booking your ticket to one of the many performances is certainly a fantastic experience, bringing the modern-day world into this ancient setting, giving you a feeling of stepping back in time that is almost dreamlike.
